About the Position

Title: Executive Director

Required Qualifications: College/Administrative degree with 5+ years of related experience

Reports to: Board President & Board of Directors

Summary:The Executive Director of the DPC is a strong leader who creates enthusiasm, gains buy-in, and establishes long-term relationships with both internal and external stakeholders through a variety of platforms. A passionate project manager who thrives on developing and implementing programs that meet the needs and goals of organizations and its supporters. S/he is a marketing fanatic who can produce and promote a variety of unique events for a diverse audience. And finally, the Executive Director is a civic-minded individual who is excited about getting others involved in the community we live and work in.

 

Primary Duties

Organizational Leadership

  • The Executive Director will be an authentic champion for the energy industry in Colorado.
  • In collaboration with the Board of Directors, the Executive Director will enable the Board to fulfill its governance and fiduciary functions.
  • Represent the Club’s interests; implement strategies, including the development and planning of events, the establishment of key relationships, and assurance of progress against goals.
  • Ensures financial accountability through effective and ethical business practices, i.e., accurate payroll, receivables, and payables.
  • Works with Board Treasurer & Finance Committee on developing an annual budget and ensures that all expenses are maintained within the budget parameters throughout the year.
  • Prepares month-end financials for external accountant and documents for monthly board meetings.
  • Prepare forward-looking event-specific budgets for committees throughout the year.
  • Recruit, orient, and maintain a diverse and inclusive membership and Board of Directors.
  • Represent the DPC through professional associations locally and statewide.
  • Lead the DPC with a strong understanding of oil and gas topics & issues to drive engaging and powerful programs for the membership.
  • Foster a team environment among volunteers and Board Members to develop innovative, focused services and programs with measurable metrics and outcomes.
  • Serve as the spokesperson for the organization.
  • Attend conferences, events, and networking socials to drive brand recognition and membership growth.
  • Support committee chairs in organizational excellence for volunteer committees (e.g. developing meeting agendas, meeting minutes, follow-up).
  • Maintain and update the DPC website with upcoming events, Board of Directors, Corporate Members, Mentor Program, etc.

 

Membership

  • Establish membership sales targets for the entire organization in collaboration with the Board and Membership Chair and oversee the Membership Committee to ensure all volunteers support revenue growth through effective outreach strategies.
  • Manage all membership applications and renewals utilizing MemberClicks platform.
  • Cultivate relationships to build membership through marketing, events, and strategic partnerships with fellow industry associations.
  • Maintain relationships with key sponsors and corporate members.
  • Analyze market trends and identify opportunities for growth.
  • Maintains accountability for achieving member satisfaction and engagement and overall financial performance of the DPC.

 

Marketing & Events

  • Develop and implement all member programs and events, including monthly happy hours, Speaker Series breakfasts, Lunch & Learns, and partner events.
  • Grow and maintain event sponsorships.
  • Create and update marketing collateral for all event sponsorship opportunities.
  • Create social media collateral for all events, utilizing Hootsuite or Sprout Social for scheduling.
  • Oversee and promote leadership programs, i.e. Mentor Program.
  • Execute large-scale (200+ attendees) annual events – i.e. Crawfish Boil, Summer BBQ, Golf Tournament, and Holiday Party.
  • Maintain effective and engaging communication with members through the website, e-blasts, and social media platforms.

 

Community & Industry Partnerships

  • Responsible for developing and maintaining partnerships within the Oil & Gas and nonprofit communities by participating on committees and/or working on joint events.
  • Promote industry partner events in weekly e-blasts to support employee engagement across the wider oil and gas industry.
  • Organize and execute quarterly volunteer opportunities for DPC members, including the Energy Industry Volunteer Day.
  • Lead logistics and marketing efforts of the annual Energy Industry Happy Hour (300+ attendees).

 

Additional Qualifications Desired

  • Fluent in Microsoft Office.
  • Comfortable with graphic design and experience utilizing software (e.g., Canva, Adobe Photoshop & InDesign) to create engaging collateral.
  • Experience in both marketing and event planning.
  • Candidate must be able to work both independently and as a team with board members and volunteers.
  • Candidate needs a strong work ethic to work effectively in the position and be open to working nights and occasional weekends.
  • Ideal candidate is an organized, self-motivated person who thinks strategically and possesses excellent communication and networking skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize competing priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of Creative Suite 6 and MemberClicks software is a plus but not required.
  • Experience in Oil & Gas industry is desired but not required.
